TVFREEDOM.ORG SUPPORTS STELA REAUTHORIZATION LEGISLATION

Washington, D.C. – TVfreedom.org spokesman, Robert C. Kenny, issued the following statement in support of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee’s legislation introduced today that would reauthorize the Satellite Television Extension and Localism Act (STELA) through 2019:

“TVfreedom.org thanks U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman, Patrick Leahy and Ranking Member, Chuck Grassley, for introducing bipartisan STELA reauthorization legislation that preserves Americans’ access to vital local broadcast television and stands up to the pay-TV lobby. We commend the Committee in their fight for consumers and their affordable access to local broadcast TV stations on cable systems. As the STELA reauthorization calendar turns to other congressional committees of jurisdiction, we hope that they too will continue to rebuke controversial pay-TV add-ons and pass similar clean legislation in the interest of consumers.”
